Shimmering Screen is a multimedia project aiming to investigate the aesthetic representation of transness on screen, based on Eliza Steinbock’s interpretation of ‘the shimmer’, which proposed an aesthetic by which transness might be embodied.

This project aims to progress Steinbock’s research through writing, experimental filmmaking and film screenings to showcase the potential of the shimmer to allow transgender individuals to exist in a non-binary space between physical and digital.
