J Taylor-Jones is a director, producer and artist based in Brighton, UK. In 2023, they founded Burning Closets Films, a production company dedicated to platforming Queer voices in front of and behind the camera. The first project to come out of the company, the short film Dead Body, was developed within a BFI creative development lab and eventually won J the New Voices Award for emerging filmmakers at Brighton’s BIFA-qualifying Cinecity Film Festival.

In 2025, J graduated from Bournemouth Film School at Arts University Bournemouth, where they specialised in producing, and has since directed and produced music videos and corporate films whilst developing further narrative projects and establishing the multimedia project The Shimmering Screen, seeking to explore the aesthetics of representing trans bodies on screen.
